              The Kelwood Improvement Society
              Mission Statement

We envision the renewal and transformation of a small prairie
community, not only in population, but also in spirit, not necessarily into what
it once was, but into something revitalized and unique with a current, fresh
vision. Not to the exclusion of the pioneers that inaugurated this community,
but rather in their honor, and not to the exclusion of the families presently
involved in agriculture, but rather for their support and enhancement. It is our
desire to provide arts education, entertainment and a celebration of culture to
              the community at large.

The Harvest Sun Music Fest, is a full fledged, 2 day music
fest with over 15 acts (all Canadian). We currently serve the village of Kelwood
as well as the surrounding communities within the Rural Municipality of
Rosedale. We strive to bring cultural artistic experiences, while supporting
agriculture in our area by providing a forum and a voice for prominent
agri-support foundations, such as the Farm & Rural Stress Line, and Manitoba
Farmers with Disabilities, who we currently partner with and who play a major
role in the Harvest Sun as a festival.

We work hard to provide many opportunities for community
involvement such as free access for local producers to advertise and sell within
our onsite farmers market, performing for local musicians, and also the
opportunity to join our growing volunteer base which we feel knits our community
              together in a unique way.

We currently have 45 dedicated volunteers, with more showing interest and we
celebrated agriculture through the arts last year with a record audience which
we hope to continue building in the years to come.
