Supporting agriculture through the arts...
In the year 2000 the Manitoba Farm & Rural Stress Line was established to provide “information, support and counselling over the phone to farm and rural families in Manitoba.” In 2011 the program was re-named Manitoba Farm & Rural Support Services, to reflect additional services offered by our program: on-line counselling, public education, volunteer training program, support groups and the resource centre. The Stress Line remains our core service and continues to provide support to farm and rural people throughout the province.

MFWD is committed to safety education to farming communities and sharing the importance of health and safety. It is our hope that agricultural injuries and fatalities will decrease as farmers increase their knowledge of safety procedures. Safe farms make for safer families.
Farming is one of the top 3 most hazardous careers. MFWD volunteers and members want to see farming become one of the safest. We encourage young people to be involved and active members in their community in promoting safety. Farming is a productive career opportunity.Through our prevention initiatives we offer safety training, agricultural presentations, attend agricultural exhibitions and schools across Manitoba.
